One of the most common questions we get is why an iPhone screen repair often costs more than an Android one. The answer comes down to the technology inside the display, not just the brand name.

Panel type matters most. Most flagship iPhones and high-end Android phones use OLED displays, which are more expensive to manufacture and repair than the LCD panels found in budget and mid-range Android phones. This is the single biggest factor in price.

Genuine vs aftermarket parts. A genuine or OEM-grade panel will always cost more than an aftermarket one, but it also preserves true colour accuracy, touch sensitivity, and brightness. Cheaper aftermarket screens can work, but often show colour shifts or reduced touch response over time.

Integrated components add cost. On newer iPhones, the screen is tightly integrated with Face ID sensors and the True Tone display chip, which requires more careful handling and calibration during replacement — this adds to labour time and cost.

Android screen pricing varies widely. Because there are hundreds of Android models across many brands, pricing depends heavily on the specific model — a budget Android screen might cost a fraction of a flagship Samsung or Google Pixel screen.
